Not just captivated by action and fighting.

In 2016, on the 25th of March to be exact, Zack Snyder’s “Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice” released into the theaters. Produced by Warner Bros. and based on the famous comics by DC, people from all over the world could consume the content of these two Michael Jackson famous superhero’s battle each other in action filled 1v1 fights with an interesting backstory and dramatic music to fill up the silence. But there’s also another thing that captivated people’s attention for this movie….

Topics mentioned:

  • Body standards
  • Actor physiques

Body ideals

Of course, when looking at Superman aside from his cool superpowers, his physique is also very impressing. Because Superman’s aesthetic looks also stood out, it led many to wonder as to how Henry Cavill, (the actor who played the role of Superman) got to such a point. What must be kept in mind, is that although weightlifting and nutrition generally do the job, other factors such as video-editing, body standards regarding the “ideal male physique” and more harmful substances also come in to play in cases like these. Since about the 1950’s, the image of what people generally accept as the “ideal male body” has been changing, a lot. During the 00’s for example, the ideal image was to have more of a dad bod and not really anything “lean” to the male physique. However, since the beginning of the 2010’s a more muscular and defined physique has been desired more than the previous body standards. This must be kept in mind whenever desiring or planning work out schemes to look more similar to a certain person, for example like with Henry Cavill over here, as there are multiple factors that come into play to get the same physique he has.

Actor physiques

Like mentioned here above, there are multiple focus points that allow an actor to have a physique like one of a superhero, or a soldier, or just a fit and aesthetic looking person in general. Their physiques are the results of vigorous training, top health advice from nutritionists and doctors, but a lot of times also because of “helping” substances. So, if we set those aside, the way to achieve to a superhero physique is by first of all, just starting the entire routine of going to the gym and working out, or at least, depending on who you’re trying to be like, finding the fitting training and copying it from them, as many actors/ famous people often share their workout routines.

All that text for what? Just “follow their workout routines”?

Saying that makes sense yes, but we are also trying to illustrate here that although famous people often have astonishing physiques in their movies or pictures, there are also other things aside from just eating healthy and working out a lot that make them look like that. To illustrate once again what we at Lucions can advertise, it would be the following:

  • Look up workout schemes of the person you want to look like
  • Research their eating habits (if they don’t have those published, look into what’s best fitting for your body instead)
  • Build consistent habits by forcing yourself to leave your comfort zone.

Hopefully this all helps, keep grinding. We, from Lucions wish you the best.
